Prime them eyes!

Hello! =)

Having trouble with those eyeshadow colors not showing on your lids? or worse do they creasing? Do you wonder how all these makeup guru's get their eye shadows to show up so well? Here is your answer: EYESHADOW PRIMER!! I used to think it was just one of those 'extra' things makeup guru's did, but after using it myself I realized it makes a HUGE difference!! However, most good primers cost somewhere around $17-$20. Soooo of course I had to find a way to save that money so I can spend it on better things like... FOOD!

Alright, I got the recipe from google. It doesn't ask you to add powder foundation, but I prefer a bit thicker consistency and this way it dries faster... I wasn't trying to wait an hour before I can start my eye makeup!! Here are the things you are going to need:

Powder Foundation
Liquid Foundation or Concealer
Body Butter
Mixer
Cute Container

MAC SHACK

Hello =)

Rain, rain go away. Come again some other day! It's rainy and cold outside and all i'm planning on doing today is some drawing/painting, my blog, eating lots of food and napping through out the day. mmmmm sounds like a perfect day to me!!!

Last time I used MAC was when I was in high school, but then stopped because it would always turn my skin ashy... ew!! who wants THAT!?! not me. BUT recently i've been reading great reviews about some of it's products sooo I did some research and bought few products (I barely buy anything without reading consumer reviews first). The reason I wanted new makeup was because my old foundation from Cargo that used to be the perfect color, seems to dry me out and make me look like I have makeup on; which to me means it's time for a change. Foundation should perfect your skin by making it look flawless and natural, not make it look like you have tons of makeup on!! Right? right. My only concern now is that for SOME people the Mac Mineralized Skinfinish Natural can be a cause for... ACNE!!!! YIKES. I will test this out for you guys because that's the kind of person I am. giving and sacrificing. LOL yeah right!!!

Alright, so the Mac MSN I got in medium dark which is sliiiightly darker than my skin tone, but it makes me look healthy. Doesn't look cakey at all, but if you want a lot of coverage this isn't the right product. The lady at the counter told me it was 'buildable coverage'... yeah if you want to look like the Joan Rivers. erm... that's mean, but you get the point. If you put too much on to get coverage it starts to look really cakey and no one wants that. I would think of it as a tinted moisturizer or as a finishing powder. I also got the Mineralized Blush in Hand Finish... they are trying to copy Nars Blush names (orgasm, deep throat) to be honest it seems a bit sleazy to me. Anyhow, the color is light pink with hints of gold and it gives me a GLOW. However, you don't see much color; which I don't mind because I have tons of matte blushes that I can layer underneath. My third purchase was a lipstick. YES, a lipstick. I have NEVER in my life bought a lipstick and last time I wore one was at the age of 5 when i tried wearing my moms and got disgusted by the taste of it. I got it because the lady at the counter sort of made me try it and to be honest it looked nice with some gloss on top (gross). Yeah, I have problem with lip stuff. Anyways, I got it but later exchanged it for another color because the color I got initially *velvet teddy* was a bit too brown for me. Now, I have *honey love* that's pretty close to my natural lip color (although, in the picture below it's looks way too brown). Last but not least, I got eye shadows. I wanted to have a palette that would contain colors I could get tons of use out of. The colors I bought: Greensmoke, Brown Down, All That Glitters, and Pink Venus. With these four colors I can come up with so many different looks!!!!

I also got the Urban Decay Eyeshadow Primer Potion, but I will do a review after i've used it a couple of times and so far I haven't had to use it since I don't wear eye shadows unless it's a special occasion.

Here are some pictures:

Tarjay

Hello =)

This will be a quick overview of the items I purchased from Target today. The reason why i'm sharing these is because everything is so cheap yet has great quality.

First, I got this really pretty and delicate necklace for about $14. I probably wear this all the time with my other 3 hearts necklace.

Okay so, I don't know how to do eye makeup. at all. I am now forcing myself to learn how to do simple stuff so I won't always look so BLAH. I have in the past gotten more expensive eye makeup stuff but I never use any of it so I figured i'll buy something cheap to experiment. This was about $5. =) The colors seemed pretty.

a bit more clearer picture

haha I tried to do swatches on my arm but they came out a bit light; which makes me think that's how they will be on my eyes. So, if you are looking for high pigmented colors, this isn't it.

I have recently FALLEN IN LOVE with Indie Pink color. It is SO pretty and def not in the 'too girly' type of way. It's elegant pretty and I LOVE it. I can't help myself when I see something in this color now. saw this tank and had to get it because it was sooo cheap!!! $8!!! great for layering since it's so long!!

NOW, to my favourite purchase.
Target has these new cotton T-shirts that have REALLLY pretty stuff on them. this was the only one that I could find in my size, but there were 4 more styles/colors that were also really cute. I love grey for clothes and this is perfect to wear underneath the long cardigans that are in style!!!

Trying to get a good picture for you guys!!

Really want you to see the pretty details!!!!
I also got the Redken All Soft shampoo, conditioner, and the Hot Tools 1.5" curling iron, but those I have to use first before I do a review on them!!!

Zipia & Gap Mix

I recently got my order in the mail from zipia, so I decided to do a post including some pieces. Below I mixed zipia jackets with Gap and Limited pants to form some work appropriate outfits. While doing this I realized how important accessories are to an outfit. Note how some outfits don't look complete because i'm not holding a bag or lack of jewelry. I clearly am a bad model, hence the awkward poses. I tried to use the same pieces over and over to show you how one piece can be used in different ways.
Zipia jacket and bag, Gap pants, Forever21 belt and tank top.

Zipia jacket, Gap pants, Forever21 belt and tank top, Pakistani scarf, Coach handbag.

Zipia jacket, Gap pants, Forever21 belt and tank top, Coach handbag.

Zipia jacket and handbag, Limited pants and tank top, H&M belt.

Zipia jacket, Limited jeans and belt, Via Spiga handbag, H&M T-shirt

Zipia shirt and handbag, Gap Pants, Green Shoes.

Must Haves for Winter 2009

Here are some of the 'Must Haves' for this winter:

  • Tailored Jackets that can be worn at work with pants or on the weekends with jeans. This is a super cute look and i'll definately be wearing lots of jackets!! =)

  • It's the time of the year to drink hot chocolate, sit in front of the fire with a book while looking put together and sophisticated with Cashmere Cashmere and more Cashmere.

  • Look tall-ER with platform heels - just make sure they are comfortable to walk in other wise you will be in pain and TRUST ME... it will show on your face!!

  • Find the perfect Over The Knee boots that you can wear with skirts, jeans, pants, and dresses!! These will make you look like you walked right off the runway!

  • Military details are super hot these days. However, I prefer a hint of this style otherwise it looks like you are trying too hard!!

  • You don't have to have a bike to pull this look off!! Leather jackets can really pull your weekend look together. Tip: try to find the PERFECT fit and make sure the leather is soft and not too shiny.

  • Wanna bring sexy back? Try wearing lace!! It can be a lace dress like the one shown below or a shirt with lacy details or a lacy camisole under a jacket/cardigan. Just make sure it's classy and not trashy!

  • Strong Shoulders. Yes, they are back! Great to rock this look at work where you want to look powerful like you can carry the world on your... shoulders!! Warning: you might want to skip this one if you already have wide shoulders, don't wanna look like a football player!!

  • My Fav: Cardigans!! You can never go wrong with wearing cardigans. Wear all sorts of colors, styles, textures with pants at work or jeans on the weekends. Mix and match and have lots of fun while looking super cute and feminine.

  • One shoulder dress - our first lady rocked this look and so can you.

  • Lastly, have fun wearing colored stockings and leggings this winter. Just don't go over board with colors in the rest of your outfit!!

Work Bags

Many of us, fail to realize that our work bag is just as important as the clothes or shoes we wear everyday. You will take your bag with you everywhere you go, from lunch meetings to corporate meetings to conferences; which is why it needs to be versatile. It should be professional yet should show a hint of your style. Since you use this bag at work, it shouldn't be too loud (unless your work environment is super laid back and promotes creativity). Try to find something that covers these 3 very important aspects: POWERFUL, PRACTICAL, and ELEGANT. People tend to find the structured bags more powerful, however you want to make sure that it's practical and can easily contain all the things you need to carry with you. It should have pockets and such to keep you organized and lastly it should be elegant and classy. Here are some examples that I thought were good for different styles:

Prada 2009

Kooba Pleated Bucket Bag

Chloe Heloise Hobo Bag

Chloe Paraty Python Tote

Chloe Shelby Shoulder Bag

Fendi 2009

* You don't have to spend TONS of money to get the perfect bag. There are plenty of look alikes out there and as far as you follow the above guidelines you will be able to find a super fabulous bag for work! =) Good Luck!!

Jennifer Aniston's Style

She is someone with a great style, casual yet classy. I don't love her acting, but her style I do like. =)

Here she accessorized very nicely. Just perfect amount of jewelry to enhance the outfit. Also, make sure what you wear is appropriate for the occasion.

Below, you can see her in jeans, a dress, and shorts! All three styles done perfectly. Notice how she tends to keep things to a minimum and tends to use solid colors that suit her skin tone and is mostly likely comfortable wearing.

See how things fit her perfectly! I love big scarfs! She looks, simple, classy, and COZY! =)

Here she is pulling casual while wearing a suit jacket. Learn how you are comfortable layering. Love her bag!!

Important note: Jennifer Aniston's style is great, but i'm sure most of the credit goes to ger stylist!!! If only I could afford one! haha Nonetheless, we can achive same results if we just figure out own style and how to shop for it! (read the previous post for tips!) Good Luck!

Find your own style!

Hello,

This is the best article I could find on how to find your own style in few easy steps. Of course, I had to added and subtracted a ton because I wanted to give you my point of view. Hope it help!! =)

1. Have a vision, but keep an open mind. Search online, through fashion magazines and observe others for intriguing aspects. If you find something you like, find or take a picture of it. Know who you are and what you like, you can get ideas from your hobbies, the music, or the kind of art you like. Not everyone who is girly likes to wear miniskirts and not wearing skirts won’t make you a tom boy. Disregard the influence of friends and media. But, if you see something you like, feel free to copy; just don't make yourself a clone of them. Mix it up and make it YOURS.

2. Choose signature colors and patterns, but learn how to mix them up with everything else. Don’t be one of those people who wear all black and won’t try any other colors. Adding your favorite color to your outfit will help you personalize your look!

3. Combine styles. Don't be afraid to mix and match from previous seasons. Try wearing a 50's dress with a 70's belt, or wearing a tie-dye shirt with plaid shorts.... okay maybe not the second one, but you get the idea. Combine it to make it YOURS.

4. Add accessories and mix them up. Try a string of pearls with another necklace, or patterned stockings or multiple bangles. Having a signature accessory, like a necklace can also be a fun way to personalize your look.

5. Be creative. Enhance certain aspects of your physique with each new outfit. For instance, if you're short, try wearing vertical pinstripes. Layering is also a fun way to experiment.

6. Shop carefully. Find the right fit. No matter what you are wearing if it doesn’t fit you properly, it will make you look uncomfortable and outdated. Also, try wearing an obscure brand. It may be less expensive, and nobody else will have it. Try yard sales or the flea market, and thrift stores, too. Look for rare designs and fabrics. Have a swap party with your friends!!!!

7. Be comfortable. Enjoy what you wear. Choose ideas that are easy to change and easy to maintain that you like wearing.
